Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how the Senti mobile application ("Senti", "the app", "we", "us") handles information when you use it on iOS or Android. Senti is built and maintained by an independent individual developer (the "developer"). By using Senti, you agree to the practices described here.
The short version
- Your notes stay on your device. Everything you log in Senti — energy readings, moments, moods, tags, and notes — is stored locally on your phone. It is never uploaded to us or anyone else.
- No account, no sign-in. Senti does not ask for your name, email, or any login. We cannot identify you.
- We collect limited diagnostic data through Google Firebase (Crashlytics and Analytics) to keep the app stable and understand general usage. This data is not tied to your identity.
- We do not sell your data and Senti contains no advertising and no advertising trackers.
- Optional in-app tips are processed entirely by the Apple App Store or Google Play — we never see your payment details.
1. Who is responsible for your data
Senti is operated by an independent individual developer. For any privacy question or request, you can reach the developer at senti.support@gmail.com. For the purposes of data protection law, the developer acts as the data controller for the limited diagnostic data described below.
2. Information stored only on your device
Senti is designed to be local-first. The content you create in the app is saved on your device using your phone's standard local storage, and is not transmitted to the developer or to any server. This includes:
- Your daily base energy readings and individual "moments";
- Moods, sleep / food / exercise details, and any tags you create;
- Free-text notes you write;
- Your settings, such as language and theme preferences.
Because this information never leaves your device, the developer has no access to it and cannot recover it. If you delete the app or clear its data, this information is permanently erased.
3. Information collected through Firebase
To keep Senti stable and to understand how the app is used in general, Senti includes two services provided by Google: Firebase Crashlytics and Firebase Analytics. These services automatically collect a limited amount of technical and usage data. This data is not linked to your name or to the personal notes you write in the app.
Firebase Crashlytics — stability & crash reporting
When the app crashes or hits an error, Crashlytics may collect:
- Crash logs and stack traces (technical details of what went wrong);
- Device model, operating system version, and app version;
- The state of the app at the time of the crash (e.g. free memory, time since launch);
- A randomly generated Crashlytics installation identifier.
Firebase Analytics — general usage
Analytics may collect:
- App interaction events such as app opens, screen views, and session activity;
- A randomly generated app-instance identifier;
- Device and software information (device model, operating system, language, country / region);
- Approximate, region-level location derived from your IP address (your IP address itself is not retained by Analytics for this purpose);
- First-open and app-update information.
Summary of data collected. The table below summarises the categories of data Senti collects through Firebase. It is also the basis for the Apple App Store privacy labels and the Google Play Data safety disclosures.
| Data type | Collected by | Purpose | Linked to your identity? |
|---|---|---|---|
| Crash logs | Firebase Crashlytics | App stability & bug fixing | No |
| Diagnostics / performance data | Firebase Crashlytics | App stability & bug fixing | No |
| App interactions (events, screen views, sessions) | Firebase Analytics | Understand general usage & improve the app | No |
| Device or other identifiers (app-instance ID, installation ID) | Firebase Analytics & Crashlytics | App stability & analytics | No |
| Approximate (region-level) location | Firebase Analytics | Understand general usage by region | No |
None of this data is used to track you across other apps or websites, and it is not used for advertising. The personal content you log inside Senti (your moments, notes, moods and energy readings) is never sent to Firebase.
4. How the information is used
The diagnostic data described above is used only to:
- Detect, diagnose, and fix crashes and bugs;
- Understand, at an aggregate level, which parts of the app are used and how often;
- Make decisions about improvements and future features.
The legal bases for this processing (where applicable, e.g. under the EU / UK GDPR) are our legitimate interest in maintaining a stable, functional app and, where required, your consent.
5. Who the data is shared with
The diagnostic data is processed by Google LLC as the provider of Firebase, acting as a service provider / data processor on the developer's behalf. Google's handling of this data is governed by the Firebase privacy and security documentation and the Google Privacy Policy.
The developer does not sell your data, does not share it with advertisers, and does not use it for cross-app tracking. Senti contains no third-party advertising SDKs. Data may be disclosed if required by law or to protect legal rights, but given the limited and non-identifying nature of the data collected, this is highly unlikely to involve information that identifies you.
6. In-app purchases
Senti may offer optional one-time "tips" to support development. These purchases are handled entirely by the Apple App Store or Google Play. Senti does not receive or store your name, payment card, or billing details — the app only receives confirmation that a purchase succeeded. Payment information is governed by Apple's and Google's respective privacy policies.
7. Device permissions
Senti requests only minimal permissions. On Android it uses the Internet permission so that Firebase can send diagnostic data. Senti does not request access to your camera, microphone, contacts, photos, precise GPS location, or health data.
8. Data retention
Information stored on your device remains there until you delete it or uninstall the app. Diagnostic data held by Firebase is retained according to Google's standard retention periods — Crashlytics crash data is typically retained for around 90 days, and Analytics data is retained according to the configured Analytics retention setting. After those periods the data is deleted or aggregated by Google.
9. Security
Data transmitted to Firebase is sent over encrypted (HTTPS / TLS) connections. Content stored on your device is protected by your device's own operating-system security. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, but the limited, non-identifying nature of the data Senti collects keeps the risk low.
10. Your choices and rights
You remain in control of your information:
- Your in-app content: you can delete individual moments, whole days, or all data from within the app at any time. Uninstalling the app removes all locally stored content.
- Diagnostic data: you can limit or reset device-level identifiers through your phone's settings (for example, resetting the advertising identifier, or adjusting "Share analytics" / tracking settings on iOS). Uninstalling the app stops any further diagnostic collection.
- Legal rights: depending on where you live (for example under the EU / UK GDPR or the California CCPA / CPRA), you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal data, or to object to processing. Because Senti does not collect data that identifies you, we may be unable to locate data about a specific individual; however, you are welcome to contact us with any request and we will do our best to assist.
11. Children's privacy
Senti is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children under the age of 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your country). The developer does not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided information through the app, please contact us so it can be addressed.
12. International users
Senti is available internationally. Because Firebase is operated by Google, the diagnostic data described above may be processed on servers located in the United States or other countries. By using Senti, you understand that this data may be processed outside your country of residence, subject to Google's safeguards for international data transfers.
13. Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated from time to time — for example, if the app's features or the services it relies on change. When it does, the "Last updated" date at the top of this page will change. Significant changes may also be noted within the app. Continued use of Senti after an update means you accept the revised policy.
